Nail Fungus Treatment with Laser
Nail Fungus Treatment with Laser
Nail fungus is an infection caused by microorganisms called dermatophytes. Although there are many treatments for nail fungus, recurrence is common after treatment. Nowadays, laser applications can reliably and effectively eliminate fungal infections. The procedure involves sending laser beams to the nail. It is a process that takes about 15-20 minutes. Laser treatment for nail fungus is safe and has no side effects. Some heat may be felt during the application at the nail root, but it is not unbearable. Local anesthesia is not required during the procedure. Usually, 4 sessions per week are sufficient, although the number of sessions can vary from person to person. Since the nail's growth rate is slow, complete healing of the nail can take several months.
If necessary precautions are taken after the treatment, the effects of the application can be permanent. Taking care of the nails and feet, paying attention to the choice of cotton socks and shoes, and using regular pedicure and foot care products are important.
